This image depicts the Tree of Life and the Tree of Enlightenment or Knowledge. Adam and Eve are immortalized on the monument. Eve is on the front, while Adam is on its opposite face, standing reflected in the silver picture frame: that is why the inscription is inverted. The snake which seduced them is portrayed in the form of the river, its head to the right, with both an open mouth and a split tongue.
