Con-Cave-Vex Atrium
Even the boldest and cleverest architect would fail in any attempt to design the
plans for this project. At first glance, the viewer hardly notices that he or she is
looking at it from different levels at the same time. From its base, one can see the
building up to its central ring-shaped balcony; the upper part, hovewer, is seen
from a bird's eye view. The notions of concave and convex are paradoxically
illustrated by the balcony in the center. The word atrium refers to courtyard, as
it did in the same time of the Romans.
